For my editing purposes in my own creative studio, aswell as at external postproductions, I´m mainly using AVID´s Media Composer.
AVID MC isn´t the top dog at professional productions for nothing, hence the editing software I have gathered the most experience with. Since the manufacturer opens up more and more to their customers´ needs, I guess, the software will be staying No. 1 for another while. And I guess, so will the anagram from AVID to Diva… 🙂
Principally, I feel confident of producing sensible results with other editing suites aswell, but with this candidate, it´s gonna be better, faster & nicer!
I create my 3D-animations and visual effects with the open-source software Blender.
Being a program that was basically used just by nerds in the past, Blender has become a serious competitor of Maya and Cinema 4D. The main reason for that is not only the pricetag (0,-). It´s the great community, which, thanks to the open source code, supports the development of the software and consists of a vast number of open and helpful people.
The graphic editing software GIMP is open-source aswell. I´m using it for layouts, textures, and all kinds of graphical elements.
Inkscape, again open-source, I use for the creation of vector graphics, like logo-designs or templates for Blender import.
For musical compositions and sounddesigns I use the DAW REAPER, accompanied by a variety of virtual instruments und effect-libraries by manufacturers as Native Intruments,
Arturia and Heavyocity.
